How can I say anything bad about a resort

Staying here currently and customer service needs work. Don't get me wrong... it's a nice enough hotel with a great location, but don't expect customer service to be friendly or do much for you if you encounter any issues. We booked in a King room Island View that wasn't disclosed as an adjoining room in booking and politely asked the front desk if we could be moved to a non-adjoining King room. The front desk acted as if there weren't any such King rooms available and that they would have to switch us to a Queen Room instead. I reluctantly agreed, but changed my mind when we went into the Queen room and it was apparent that it hadn't been cleaned. Dead roaches on the floor. Weird stains on walls and hair still clinging to shower walls. I showed the front desk and they were unconcerned by my telling them with photos. Not a great or resort quality experience so far unfortunately, especially when it comes to how the front desk treats guests.

Meh at best. This place is overrated and quite expensive for what you get. If you’re hungry after 10:30 you can forget it. No food options not even a vending area. We asked the front person about a vending area and she stated that “the Westin thinks it’s tacky to have a vending/café area. This I found to be funny considering how often my husband and I frequent the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, VA, where there is a vending area after hours. At any rate, we checked into the room and there were no wash cloths, no ironing board or iron. Additionally I requested an ocean view room only to receive a corner room with an obstructed view. For a $1000 for a weekend this resort has below average service and does not provide a bang for the buck.

Nice but not worth the price. PROS: The resort has restaurants and other amenities that allow you to stay on property. The beds were comfortable and the grounds were well-maintained. CONS: It’s an older property. The shower never drained even after we notified the front desk, the air vent was dirty, the walls were thin and we weren’t given parking instructions upon arrival.

There was a Taxi right at Hilton Head Airport and a short ride to the Westin . It was beautiful pulling into the entrance to the resort and I knew it was going to be an amazing stay . Checking in was super easy and everyone was friendly and helpful, baggage handling was easy coming and going by the wonderful staff. I had the most spectacular ocean view from my room balcony and took a photo of the sunrise every morning. There are plenty of places to relax and sit by one of the pools and throughout the resort . A fair amount of room to room noise - easily heard TV and coughing through (thin) walls fortunately fan can be set to on for white noise to cover up this noise. Surprisingly good sound in insulation through sliding doors - does a good job covering up noise from pool area. In-room, coffee maker, clothes, steamer, shampoo, conditioner, body gel, body, lotion, hairdryer, large room, lighted make up mirror, clothesline in shower tub area, and bathroom with plenty of counter space. Mini fridge, room, safe, nice balcony, good floor space but limited seating. Definite lack of drawer space. no bathrobes. In room recycle bin. Decent size exercise room with three Peloton bikes, recumbent bike, regular bike about five treadmills about three elliptical weights. Smaller pool heated which is just barely big enough to do laps and if you don’t mind doing a lot of turning; bigger two uncovered pools are much colder (perhaps unheated?). Located on beach. You will need to drive to eat anywhere but the resort itself. I was surprised they did not rent bikes.
